How much do you charge?

Every celebration is different, so we customize each package around your vision, timeline and guest count. The best way to get an exact quote is a quick, no-pressure discovery call — tell us about your event and we’ll design the right setup for you. We can’t wait to hear about your day.
How much should I budget for my DJ?

Your entertainment carries the responsibility for a huge share of the success of your celebration, so it is the last place to cut corners. Across the industry, professional rates for DJ entertainment generally range from about $700 to $3,500, with the average professional rate around $1,450. Less experienced or part-time DJs may charge less — but for a once-in-a-lifetime celebration, a full-time professional is the wisest choice.
Will you hold my date?

In the DJ industry our dates are our inventory, so a date cannot be held without a contract and retainer. If you need time to decide which package suits you, simply request a retainer contract — a small retainer secures your date, and we can design the perfect package for you afterward. We accept PayPal, Square, Visa, MasterCard, Discover and check.
Do you use contracts, and are you insured?

Yes. For everyone’s peace of mind we use written contracts and conduct our business professionally. We are fully insured and are members of the American Disc Jockey Association. We are very easy to work with, and our focus is always on celebration and family.
Will you be on time for my reception?

Yes — in fact we arrive early. We coordinate arrival with your venue and typically set up about two hours ahead of time. Our equipment and microphones are then tested, tuned and fully equalized to the room, so your very first guest hears perfection.
What kind of equipment do you use?

As a full-time professional DJ company, we use only the most reliable, professional and state-of-the-art equipment — the same brands trusted by the nation’s top concert and club venues. We perform on completely digital sound systems, with the latest technology and backup gear built in and on site, so your event is worry-free.
What kind of music do you have — and is there a list?

Hot Mix has an enormous, constantly-updated library. We subscribe to three of the industry’s best music programming services that refresh our collection weekly, covering every era — Big Band, Motown, Disco, 80s, 90s, 2000s, classic rock, alternative, Top 40, R&B, hip hop, dance, house, EDM, funk and more. We’ll send you a “most requested” suggestion list along with traditional-dance ideas. Keep in mind there is only time for roughly 15–20 songs per party hour.
Can I request a specific DJ?

Absolutely. If you have seen one of our DJs perform, we do our best to have that entertainer perform at your event. Because of the nature of the business we also recommend a second choice, so that should an entertainer ever fall ill or become unavailable, we can match you with a perfect performer and you are covered either way.
